Context
InsightCat is a full-stack monitoring platform. I led design for Logs, Synthetic, Billing, Dashboards, APM, Incident Timeline, Alerts, Insights, and Anomalies.
Problem
The monitoring tools teams already had were fragmented, slow to set up, and aimed at large enterprises.
Responsibility
I was Product Designer and UX/UI Developer. I ran surveys, looked at the market, prototyped, and tested the product with users.
Decisions
- Put the monitoring tools in one place instead of asking a team to assemble them.
- Shorten setup and keep the interface plain enough to learn quickly.
- Build the interface from a component system so later features shipped with fewer inconsistencies.
Screens
The dashboard covers hits, logs, synthetic checks, host health, and a release notice. The public image is a composite: the product UI sits inside a marketing frame.
Design system and engineering
Vue, Node, Go, AWS, Storybook, and Chromatic.
Outcome
- The Communicator Awards 2023 recognized the InsightCat platform for B2B product design.
